And why their attraction may have much less to do with age—and much more to do with the woman you’ve become.
I’m Andrea Feinberg, M.B.A., longtime marketer and business coach.
For years, women have been handed a remarkably narrow story about aging, attractiveness and desire.
We’re told—sometimes subtly, sometimes not—that attention diminishes with age. That sensuality belongs to youth. That if a significantly younger man expresses interest, we should be suspicious, embarrassed or at least surprised.
Because I became curious about questions women my age aren’t particularly encouraged to ask.
Questions about attraction. Desire. Dating. Younger men. Sexuality. And what happens when a woman reaches an age when she’s supposedly expected to want less—and discovers that she may actually want more.
I’m the author of the newly published Sex, Sensuality & the Senior Woman, an exploration of what becomes possible when we stop assuming that age has already made certain decisions for us.
Some of the reasons are physical. Some are emotional. Some are sexual. And several may surprise you.
